NOTICE OF MEETING

NOTICE is hereby given that the Commissioners’ Court of Upton County will meet in regular session on the 2nd Monday in January, 2010, the same being January 11, 2010, at 9:00a.m, in the Commissioners’ Courtroom of the Courthouse in Rankin, to discuss matters coming before it in due course of business.

AGENDA
1. Pay bills. - Approved.

2. Accept reports, deputations, and approve any additions to bond list. . - Accepted reports and additions to bond list (Blanket Bond for 5,000 and 3 Bonds for District / County Clerk and 3 Bonds for Sheriff). There were no deputations

3. Approve minutes of December 14, 2009. - Approved

4. Receive bids on struck-off property. - No bids received

5. Revise and Amend 2009 Budget. - Approved

6. Discuss and act on appointing Commissioners’ Court presiding officer Pro-Tem in the event of the County Judge’s absence. - Appointed Willie Martinez as he is the commissioner with most tenure.

7. Levy a tax in 2010 for every person who may be issued a license under the Texas Liquor Control Act, a fee equal to ½ the state fee. - Approved

8. Consider and act upon designating a (1) day of the week on which Commissioners’ Court shall convene in regular term each month during the County’s fiscal year 2010 required under Section 81.005 (a) of the Texas Local Government Code and (2) another day on which the court shall routinely and periodically meet as allowed under Section 81.005 (g) of the Texas Local Government Code. Continue with meeting every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month, unless scheduling prohibits

9. Discuss and act on Resolution Authorizing County Judge to Execute a Letter of Waiver for payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT). - Continue until next meeting January 25, 2010 as no resolution has been sent to court yet

10. Adopt the discrimination policy as follows: Upton County is an equal-opportunity employer, and will not discriminate on the basis of gender, religion, color, race, national origin. - Approved

11. Discuss and act on paying ARCIT Membership Dues for 2010. - Approved to pay $385.00 for 2010 Dues

12. Discuss and act on Designation of location of Foreclosure Sales. - Set front steps of court house and main foyer as location

13. Discuss and act on Cielo Wind Services, Inc. representative’s request to confirm the road easement and/or agreement that was furnished from Upton County in 2002 re: Noelke Hill Project. – Approved


14. Discuss and act on Texas Department of Transportation’s request regarding agreement to contribute funds-local government for the development of US 385 to a divided 4-lane facility throughout Upton county in support of Texas Trunk System Initiative. – no action taken

15. Discuss and act on appointing election judges and alternate election judges. – Approved
